Gradient fill creates a smooth transition between one or two color

Home tab > Draw panel > Gradient

Select gradient fill from the 9 patterns

Gradient Color 1: Main color
Gradient Color 2: Second color gradation

 It is good practice to create hatches and gradient on different layer
