Auto Dimension ^

AutoCAD 2016 provides a single Dimension command that intelligently predicts the types of dimension when hover cursor over geometry

Annotate tab > Dimensions panel > Dimension
A new Dim Layer Override control allow you to select the dimension layer to override the current layer

If the dimension layer not exist, click Layer option on the command line, enter "Dimension" to add a new layer to override the current layer.
